NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Effective Date: April 1, 2026

Our Belief in Equal Human Dignity

Living Grace Homes was founded on the conviction that every human being, regardless of their past, deserves access to safe, clean, and stable housing. We serve some of the most vulnerable members of our community, including United States veterans, individuals transitioning out of incarceration, seniors, and those experiencing homelessness. Because our residents come from remarkably diverse walks of life, we hold ourselves to the highest standard of fairness, inclusion, and respect.

This Non-Discrimination Policy is our public commitment to that standard. It governs all aspects of our operations, including but not limited to intake and admissions, residency agreements, access to services, staff interactions, and any communications conducted on behalf of Living Grace Homes.

Protected Classes Under Applicable Law

Living Grace Homes does not discriminate against any individual on the basis of any characteristic protected under federal, Arizona state, or local law. These protected characteristics include:

Race, color, national origin, or ancestry, as protected under the federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. Section 3604) and the Arizona Civil Rights Act (A.R.S. Title 41, Chapter 9). Sex and gender, including pregnancy status, as protected under federal and Arizona law. Religion or creed. Age, particularly as it pertains to individuals age 40 and older under the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 and A.R.S. Section 41-1463. Disability or handicap status, as protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Arizona’s corresponding civil rights provisions. Familial status. Sexual orientation and gender identity, consistent with evolving federal interpretations of the Fair Housing Act and applicable Phoenix Municipal Code provisions. Veteran status, including discharge status, military branch, or era of service. Source of income, including but not limited to SSI/SSDI, Veterans Benefits, or Housing Subsidy payments. Prior involvement with the criminal justice system, except as may be lawfully considered in specific contexts for the safety and welfare of existing residents.

Admissions and Intake

Our intake process is structured to assess each applicant’s suitability for our shared housing program based on transparent, consistently applied criteria. These criteria are related solely to the individual’s ability to comply with house rules, maintain a peaceful environment for fellow residents, and meet any applicable payment obligations.

No applicant will be denied placement on the basis of any protected characteristic listed above. All intake applications are reviewed with equal consideration and good faith. Where an applicant is not selected, we will provide a clear, documented reason consistent with our program eligibility standards.

Reasonable Accommodations

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Fair Housing Act, Living Grace Homes is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities who require modifications to our standard policies, practices, or physical environment in order to enjoy equal access to our housing program. Requests for reasonable accommodation should be submitted in writing to our administrative contact listed at the bottom of this policy. Each request will be evaluated on a case by case basis in a timely and good faith manner.

Complaints and Enforcement

Any resident, applicant, or community member who believes they have been subjected to discrimination by Living Grace Homes or any of its staff members has the right to file a formal complaint. Complaints may be submitted internally to our management team at info@livingracehomes.com or by calling 928-324-1100.

In addition, individuals may file a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division at 2005 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85004, or with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) at hud.gov/fairhousing. Arizona residents also have the right to file a complaint with the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) or pursue civil remedies under A.R.S. Title 41, Chapter 9.

Living Grace Homes prohibits retaliation of any kind against any person who, in good faith, files a complaint, participates in an investigation, or otherwise exercises their rights under this policy or applicable law.

Staff Training and Accountability

All staff members and volunteers at Living Grace Homes are required to understand and uphold this Non-Discrimination Policy. Violations of this policy by any staff member or representative of Living Grace Homes will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or volunteer status.
